Vidcast 2

This is my second Vidcast for Broadcast Media. I went to see the Fringe Furniture Exhibition that took place withing the Melbourne Fringe Festival. It was interesting, because a lot of awarded student works had been displayed.
I originally made a video of “My perfect day” in which I show my day from getting up to leaving the house, having coffee, sketching, visiting the exhibition, lying on the beach and dancing salsa at night. But since the video was 18 mins in length all in all, I had to shorten and cut it so that the only thing that was left and valuable for the Vodcast considering Industrial Design was the Exhibition itself. Sadly it´s the same topic that Sabrina chose, the difference is that you get a 3d idea of the exhibits because I shot a video in there.
Have a look!

Podcast Nr. 2

This is my second podcast in which I interviewed 3 of my fellow students about their achievements in the Design Studio “No bottled Water”. I asked them how their designs look like, what makes it so special and what they think has been the biggest challenge during that project.

Interview with Paul Angus

This is my first video for my Industrial Design Elective Broadcast Media at RMIT. I interviewed my Design Studio Teacher Paul Angus to find out why he studied Industrial Design, how his career developed and so on.

Here and here you can find the links to the songs I used in my video.

Ideas for Podcast no.1

In my first podcast I want to document the process of research for my Industrial Design Studio called “No Bottled Water”. The task is to design an new drinking fountain for the RMIT campus so that people would use them and live down concerns about hygiene and so on. Reaching the goal of people using the fountains could effectively help to reduce rubbish created by bought bottled water. The structure will be: Explaining how existing drinking fountains work, how many different kinds of fountains exist at the campus, conclusions of former interviews with students concerning the fountains and a discussion with a friend of mine brainstorming for ideas and suggestions for a new design.

To produce this podcast is the first step of documenting the process of designing the new fountain. A vodcast with sketches and first renderings will then follow.

I think the main challenge for me will be to figure out how to create the audio but mainly the video file in an interesting way so that people would listen and watch. I think I will have some difficulties with the software because this is the first time for me to edit audio and video stuff.
